On 7 July 2006, Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell signed into Senate Bill 1205, the settlements and the litigation because of back child support. Your condition may be a similar law.

This law applies to all settlements, judgments, arbitration awards, Workers' Compensation Awards or disease rates with net revenue to the plaintiff for $ 5,000.00. Before the plaintiffs can the proceeds from such a scheme or award, he or she must be an affidavit and documentation from the Pennsylvania Child Support Enforcement website of either (1) the amount of arrears, or (2) documentation that there were no arrearages. An attorney that the funds distributed after receipt of the said affidavit and the documentation is immune from all civil, criminal or administrative penalties for the manufacture of a false distribution.

The policy behind this law is obvious. The legislature wants to prevent that adults flush with new cash from dispel that wealth without first ensuring that their children receive the financial assistance to which they are entitled.
