into furniture for many years I am always fascinated by the achievements of the people, the creation of innovations in new products furniture. The category that most fascinated me over the years is in the way of the futon frame designs. futon frame early study designs, we have an interesting visualization of how the early Futons have influence on the modern designs we see today in a category that was relatively unknown until the last ten years. futons as furniture category is only for the over the last 25 years. During this time, but have worked their way from the furniture shop in mass merchants and big box stores alike offer the various brands and qualities of these images. In this article I will give you an overview of the early pioneers of Futon Industry and Futon inventions and innovations for different designs from the beginning along with references to certain patents, which helped us move Futons currently in his own home textiles category.

One of the earliest patents futon I had been able to provide Nikita Grigoriev, the files patent for a futon in the year 1983 (patent number 4538308) for what he described as " 'Convertible furniture. The drawings represent what we are today would be a tri-fold frame, uses 3 flat sections, the sitting and sleeping parts of the frame and work in conjunction with each other to go to the sofa-bed. I found it interesting how he described the operation of a futon like a piece of furniture that is convertible to a bed on a sofa, which exploits the geometry of the components to complete the conversion from one mode (sofa) into a different mode (bed). I think this abstract statement of Mr. Grigoriev worked very well in the type of futon furniture and how they work.

Another patent Futon Design was founded in 1985 (patent number 4642823), Robert Fireman's Furniture Gallery, Inc., invented by William B. Wiggins. What was interesting to take this early futon design was the inclusion of arms on the sides of the futon, which is the seat and back sections to integrate into the arms and for the operation, without the futon. This early design Featured Swing two pieces hinged at the rear of the rails in the rear area. The seat and back sections connected together with steel pins. What I found most interesting about this design is that it is effectively converted from the futon sofa bed from the front. Once in bed extra legs were heading for their support. Additionally, a dowel rod and meshed with the seat and back section to lock the two into a horizontal position. These would be bi-fold today's standards, which means that 2 parts are used to sitting and sleeping areas are parts of the frame.

In 1990, Gary & Robert Shaffield Fireman futon design a non-patent means of a spring to facilitate the movement from position to position. (Patent number 4996730). This design was very similar in view of the patent in 1985 with Robert firefighters and many of the components and the aesthetics of the two designs in the two patents in the same comparison. The design of the framework but on the legs in the section of the seat when pulled out and would then, if the framework was withdrawn Featured an end, that contributed to the legs of itself entangled with the base. This was a spring contributed to the operation of the framework. Many early futons would be through improvements in design and function, and this is often how improvements would be under and how they found their way into the products we would purchase. It should be noted that in my study of patents Futon many other patents in futon designs are owned by Robert firefighter in two tri-fold and Bi-fold design. He is considered one of the early pioneers in futon design throughout the industry.

Another interesting patent futon that I was over in 1991 by Randall L. Withers assigned Maurice A. Warner, Jr. (patent number 5129114). The futon Featured patent drawings, which represent an image to be routed grooves in the sides of the arms facilitates a sliding nylon rollers, which in the route of the canal in the arm. As with other futon patents, designs were beginning to Futons built with side arms, two connecting rails and a seat and back section. However, bi-fold futon designs such as these were not the only BI-fold designs exist.

In December 1991 Thomas L. Meade convertible furniture under a patent (patent number 5170519), which do not use weapons in their design to support the conversion of the futon, but a hinge and stop arrangement. The seat and back sections built piece of wood under them, as supported. There were two of them on each section, that if in a bed would be on these supports. The genius in this design was its ability to pivot on a series of nylon wheel is situated on the lower back of the seat section supported. It has to do was tilt the frame back on its wheels, the back on the floor and pull the seat section to unlock, and lower it into a bed position. This design was simple, functional and easy to use, without the need for arms at the ends of the frame to convert futons.

October 1991 was another group of inventors, including Mark S. Barton, Kurt J. and Mark E. Bandach conciliator make an interesting concept of a pivoting Pawl how it applies to them. This was essentially a specially designed block hanging over the seat section, which is against a step on the backs and with the gravitational influence Pawl to hang when the futon is unengaged in an upright position and, if the seat is lifted Pawl and engaged against the step to the framework to operate while standing in front and returns the futon from a bed position to a sitting position. This patent was granted to August Lotz Co., Inc., to implement this concept in the successful line of futon products. This was an interesting approach for the transformation as it is now within the framework was to facilitate the movement back into a position by Pawl sofa in the steps in the back of the frame.

Continued progress in identifying a futon futon patent was in 1994 by Peter W. Dodge (patent number 5513398) for a futon that a tilt mechanism. This allows a transfer from the bed to the sofa position with guide slots or grooves are routed with wheels to move and the seat and back parts of the futon frame. This construction would soon be emulated in many other manufacturers, that the weapons had become the focal point for the operation of the futon frame.

The patents and inventions in this article are really just a sampling of the many designs and innovations of different futon inventor had the vision, furniture and design in a new light. The futon industry itself has a lot since its humble beginnings in the early 80s and many futons you see today are based on these early concepts and designs. I found it fascinating, the development of the futon from a simple three-way design in the sofa looking frames of today. The innovations resulting from these comments really helped to move this line of furniture that we know today. The next time you futon frame I hope you think about the inventor and the legacy they left on this furniture category.
