The history of patents extends back to seventeenth century under the reign of King James I of England. While patents have been a very long time, the rules on patents were not always in force. There are many questions inventors have if trying to create a patent for their invention. An important question is: "How long does a patent offer?". "One might wonder whether a patent is protected by various laws in different countries like the United States, Canada and Europe .
